MS Success Honoree: Dr. Victor D. White, Educator/Author

by Cyrus Webb

It's been great watching Dr. Victor D. White come into his own over the years. He is not just a passionate educator who gives his all to those he serves. He's also an example of what hard work, patience and determination can bring you.

In 2026 he announced the upcoming release of his book NOT ON MY WATCH: Why Students Shouldn't Slip Through the Cracks---and How to Stop It as well as how his organization Aspire Forward Consulting will be engaging with the community to offer assistance to make sure students have the support they need.

I am honored to have Victor as one of our MS Success Honorees for 2026. He reminds us all of what is possible.

First, Victor, congratulations on being one of our Mississippi Success honorees for 2026. What has it been like for you to have the work you do be recognized?

It is truly humbling. Much of the work I do has never been about recognition, but about impact—serving students, supporting educators, and strengthening communities. To be acknowledged in this way is both an honor and a reminder that the work matters. It encourages me to continue striving for excellence and to uplift others along the way.

What do you want people to know about the Mississippi that you know?

Mississippi is filled with opportunity, resilience, and untapped greatness. It is a place where strong relationships, faith, and community still matter. While we often face challenges, there is a deep-rooted commitment among our people to overcome, to grow, and to create better futures for the next generation.

Who has inspired you when it comes to wanting to make a difference?

I have been inspired by many, but particularly by the educators, mentors, and leaders who invested in me early on. Individuals who saw potential in me before I fully saw it in myself helped shape my desire to give back. Additionally, the students I serve daily continue to inspire me—they are the reason the work remains meaningful.

How has the state shaped you as a creative and the work that you do?

Mississippi has taught me how to be resourceful, innovative, and people-centered. In environments where resources may be limited, creativity becomes essential. It has pushed me to think outside the box, to develop solutions that are practical and impactful, and to always center relationships in the work I do.

With all that is going on in the world and in education, what helps you to remain optimistic about the future?

My faith, my family, and the young people I serve keep me optimistic. Every day I see growth, potential, and resilience in students that remind me that the future is bright. Knowing that we have the ability to influence that future through intentional work keeps me motivated.

As someone who has shown what is possible when it comes to believing in yourself, what advice do you have for others when it comes to pursuing your goals and dreams?

Believe in your vision even when others may not fully understand it. Stay consistent, remain disciplined, and don’t be afraid of hard work. Surround yourself with people who challenge and support you, and never allow temporary setbacks to define your long-term purpose. Your journey is unique—walk it with confidence.

Congratulations again, Victor, and thanks for the time. How can our readers stay connected with you?

You can connect with me via email at aspireforwardconsults@outlook.com, and follow my work through Aspire Forward Consulting as we continue to support students, educators, and communities.
